7 travel mistakes to avoid

Travel guides always talk about what to do, to eat , to see, but what about mistakes?

Whether it’s your first trip or tenth, you can never be sure that everything will go well. Let's talk about things you shouldn’t do on the road to avoid inconvenient situations․

1 DON'T OVERPACK

Don't take outfits for every possible occasion, pack only what you need and know you’ll use. Don't be afraid of not having anything to wear, you can always do some laundry on the road.

It's allways difficult to haul your luggage around, and you may get stuck with high baggage fees for accidentally exceeding the weight limit.

2 TELL ANYONE WHERE YOU ARE GOING

It is a good practice to always tell someone where you are going, or to leave a note, because the world is full of unpredictable situations and you just never know when you might be stuck or blown up. Otherwise, God forbid, how will people know that you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

3 PLAN YOUR BUDGET

Never forget about planning your expenses. Consider, that your budget is a way to experience the place more creatively and more authentically. Don't forget about unexpected expenses, create a realistic budget you can stick to and allow some breathing room for them.

4 DOUBLE CHECK YOUR DOCUMENTS AND BOOKINGS

Double-check your documents and reservations from hotels, flights, trains, buses, etc. Make the copies of your documents, check the time and location, and make sure they are scheduled correctly.  Also, check that your name is correctly spelled on your flight reservation. Nobody wants to get stuck in airport or even worse in unknown city because of a small mistake.

5 HIDE VALUABLE PROPERLY

If you don’t need valuable things at that moment, don’t wear them or take with you. As for DSLR cameras, laptops, and expensive gadgets, carry them with you, hidden in a locked pack and use them as necessary. Avoid carrying too much cash and store it in different places.

6 BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE

You can’t predict when a family emergency, lost luggage, cancelled flight, or injury will derail your vacation. But you can protect yourself. Buying travel insurance you will feel more secure in case something happens.

7 DON'T LET MISTAKES RUIN YOUR TRIP

There are allways some problems that can make you sad but try to think positive. It takes so much effort and time to plan your trip , so use your time only on positive vibes and be happy :)
